So, everyone is panicking. Markets are reeling. CFO’s are yelling, “Batten down the hatches” – “hoard the cash”, “cut all spending and ride this thing out”. If I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard that astonishingly bad advice in the past two weeks, I would start my own hedge fund. I hear there’s an opportunity in credit default swaps.

While ordering a new laptop from Dell a few days ago, I discovered a program I was previously unaware of called (RED). I recall my partner mentioning a donation to AIDS Africa after ordering a new Red iPod from Apple, but did not realize until this week that this was a much wider program supported by the likes of Bill Gates, Scarlett Johansson, Giorgio Armani and Julia Roberts.
